HTML (Hypertext Mark-Up Language)

Overview: HTML is the mark-up language used to create websites. This course will cover the basic HTML needed for creating a simple website. Included in the lessons will be a discussion of the principles of HTML and how to apply them, how to add text to a web page and ways in which text can be formatted to display properly. The use of graphics on the Web will be examined in detail including how to include a graphic on a page, graphics formats, how to achieve the best compression when using graphics and use of the web-safe colour palette. The course will also cover the use of hypertext links to link pages together and to create links to outside websites and also the use of tables to display tabular data and to create page design grids.
